THREE MILLS WEST
STRATFORD
A mixed-use development incorporating student accommodation and commercial units over three sites. This development includes 346 studio apartments, six one-bedroom apartments, three two-bedroom apartments and 102 cluster flats, providing a total 972 bed spaces. The design features an 18-storey tower which creates a new flagship building for the city and a new landmark on the Sheffield skyline.
A 26-storey development providing 431 rooms for student accommodation. The site was a vacant plot of land used formerly as a petrol station. Beyond giving a choice of rooms to suit the living requirements and budgets of up to 445 local students, the regeneration of the site also supported the on-going growth of Stratford High Street and the town centre. The accommodation includes a range of artists’ studios and a café/gallery space.
The scheme was described by the London Legacy Development Corporation’s Quality Review Panel as having “the potential to become an exemplar for the design of student accommodation”.
